Hello-Hello from Nikki Mackie!
My self-isolating, working mom, current view is … Running my company from home while my two kids hang off me and BOMB into almost every Zoom and conference call I make. Sound familiar? Entertaining my kids’ Rhys (7) and Cameron (5) day in and day out during this pandemic has been a ton of work! I find sharing information and resources has been so helpful, especially at a time like this.
I need ideas! I want ideas! Send me ideas!
I am not going to ‘Instagram Pretty’ my reality! Juggling my business, the kids and their schoolwork has been a huge challenge and I have had days where I’ve sat in my closet with an over following glass of wine and cried. Having never-ending feelings of helplessness, defeat and no breaks catches up to us all. But what makes me feel productive is a routine of the same habits. I’m a huge champion of routine and it is truly the key to my happiness and my kids thrive off it too!
Here are 5 things I am doing with my babes to pass the time during our self-isolation/social distancing.
GAMES: We are a very active sporty family and in the past 6 weeks we have taught the kids these games.
Spike ball
Jenga
Bocce
Bean bags Toss (Cornhole – I can’t handle that name, so we call it bean bags)
Pickleball
Crash Course Kids - This science channel has been awesome for both my kids and even I am learning things!
Cosmic Kids Yoga - My daughter Cameron has loved this!
Guided Drawing: We have been having the BEST TIME doing guided drawings. This is something both my kids can do together, and most of the time we do it as a family! Or it allows me to get some work done or meals/housework done. My kids like these two channels for guided drawing!

COVID Keepsake Journal: I was sent this journal from my mother in law and it’s been a great tool for the kids to document what they have been up to. It also acts as a keep sake/time capsule for this time in history for them look back on.
