M E E T K E N D R A

Kendra is a strength leader, avid runner, hobby crafter, and fur Momma to Doug.  As an 800/1500m specialist, Kendra captioned the varsity team at the University of Victoria, and continued running post-collegiately once she graduated in 2015.  In 2016, Kendra placed 5th at Olympic trials, and went on to represent Canada at the Francophone Games in Côte d'Ivoire, Africa. Outside of running, Kendra has developed a huge passion for improving mental health services for athletes, particularly at the varsity level.  She is currently completing her master’s in counselling psychology and hopes to see a shift in mandatory counselling therapy in all varsity athletic departments across Canada. 

In her spare time, you’ll find Kendra either chasing, or being chased by Doug. Kenny is known for her humour, her deep love for her friends and family, and her emphasis on quality time.  Born and raised in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast, Kendra’s a hippy at heart who now calls Victoria home.

Beacon Hill Park 4km running loop

Stair Workout Ideas: 

*10 sets of continuous stairs, running up and walking/jogging down for recovery. 

- single foot alternating stair sets (i.e. first set right, second set left)

- double hop stairs

- double hop skip focussing on similar muscle groups/body awareness as box jumps. 

- run a full set of stairs, do 10 push ups at top.

- run second full set of stairs, do 10 sit ups at top. 

Repeat 5 X where 2 sets of stairs and 1 set pushups + 1 set sit ups = 1 set.
